New Holland recently launched their IntelliSense™ Sprayer Automation,

which boasts a 140-foot-wide field view and operates at speeds of up to 25 mph. New Holland’s director of precision technology Paul Welbig says the all-in-one sensor mounted on the cab is part of what makes their solution unique.

Welbig… “ We don't have sensors on the boom. This package is actually mounted on the cab. And so, it's up outta harm's way I would call it. And because of that, it actually does a few things. One,it does, keeps it out of harm's way on the boom, keeps it out of the spray mist, the dust, a lot of the trash that you might get. Otherwise, if it was that low to the ground in a field. And so it can encompass the entire boom and it can see 50 feet ahead. And because of that, through one sensor package on the roof, and the fact that it's looking out, we can spray - there's no real limitation to speed. And so in live VRA mode, the sprayer's actually able to run at up to 25 miles an hour, which pretty much accommodates most folks that are running that fast. And then in the selective spray mode, they can actually run up to 19 miles an hour.”

Welbig says with IntelliSense farmers don’t have to sacrifice speed or productivity for precision.
