The 360 Rain system is emerging as an innovative, cost-effective alternative to traditional irrigation. Center pivots designed to improve efficiency and reduce costs for farmers. This new technology is gaining attention in the ag industry. Weston Stork, a UNX technician with Jenner Ag says the 360 Rain, potential impact could transform irrigation practices,

“Basically, an autonomous machine that runs over your field and applies just water. Or you could mix in manure with the water as well for some extra fertilizer. The great thing about it is you can actually cover your cover your whole field, versus a pivot. Obviously, you're just going to get a circle out of a pivot, whereas that autonomous machine will do all the whole field, whether it's square or a chopped up field or whatever you would have, utilizes an RTK base station.”

Stork says the Rain 360 is its own piece of equipment and can be ran from a phone or tablet.

so that knows exactly where it's at. And you also would put a globe on the planter when you plant to make sure you are not going to run down any of your rows when you're doing your irrigation. To visualize it. It kind of looks like a sprayer without a cab on it. It's got booms coming out of each side with drops coming down to place the water by every plant.”
