New tools are on their way for agronomists to help them make more data-driven decisions in the field. ChrysaLabs, as one example hopes their digital soil analysis can supplement the knowledge of agronomists, not replace them says founder Sam Fournier.

Fournier… “They'll basically create a faster environment in which they're consuming the data and how they can also work with the data. We position on purpose the agronomists as kind of centerpiece of the relationship. We understand how important the relationship between the agronomists and the farmers are and how significant and how influential they are in the operation of their farmers. So the objective for us is basically to supplement their knowledge and their power in that specific relationship, and just making sure that they can be as good as they need to be to create maximum return for the wallet, but also for the planet. So that's kind of really where we're seeing things. And even as we move forward and like, think about what can be the future, there's still a lot of knowledge that is captured from agronomists. And no, there's no such thing as, they have the exact recommendation and this is standard for the entire county, right? This will depend on soil types, on how much money they want to invest in a specific field, and like, there's so many things and so many variables that this knowledge basically comes from the agronomist. And yeah, we're only looking to supercharge that with information that comes quicker and wait for them to be more influential in that relationship.”

Again that’s ChrysaLabs founder, Sam Fournier.
