The American Peanut Council has opened 2024 crop enrollment for its Sustainable U.S. Peanuts Initiative, now in its fourth year. This program aids peanut farmers in using resources efficiently and meeting growing demands for sustainability. The goal is to boost peanut demand, enhance profitability, and secure long-term viability for the industry. Farmers who missed early enrollment can still sign up or update their information by April 2025 at sustainableuspeanuts.org, where a toolkit is also available.

According to Council President Richard Owen, sustainability is now a key market driver for peanut demand, as consumers, manufacturers, and international partners seek sustainable practices. The initiative, the first of its kind in the peanut industry, collects data directly from farmers on verified sustainable practices, creating a transparent supply chain from growers to consumers.

By participating, peanut growers contribute to a collective sustainability story, building industry resilience and meeting modern market expectations.
