Trade Mission Viet Nam
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. Alexis Taylor, USDA Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, led another successful trade mission overseas, this time to Vietnam.Taylor says Vietnam is the tenth-largest agricultural export market for the U.S. …
TAYLOR … “The United States is also Vietnam's third-largest supplier of food and Agriculture, which made Vietnam a great location for this trade mission.”
She says Vietnam continues to expand as a market for American commodities …
TAYLOR … “The market is, I think, growing for some of our higher value exports like fruit, and we continue to really invest in opening new market access for our U.S. fruit producers. Some of the objectives of our trade mission were strengthening trade ties, identifying new market opportunities, and expanding U.S. agricultural exports that are bolstered by these types of trade missions that we do.”
Taylor says the face-to-face meetings are great for boosting business between the two countries …
TAYLOR … “The U.S. businesses conducted 527 business-to-business meetings over the course of the week and heard a lot of excitement from those meetings that the businesses had. We also expanded the reach of the trade mission. We brought in buyers from Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand.”
Again, that’s Alexis Taylor of the USDA.
