Save Family Farming Leadership Pt 2
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The state of Washington lost farms at a rate of 14 per week over the past five years thanks to things like the new overtime laws and over-regulation.I asked Save Family Farming’s new Executive Director Ben
Tindall how he expects to get lawmakers to understand that what they’re doing isn’t working? …
TINDALL … “The focus for Save Family Farming is less on the legislature. We’re not, you know, paid lobbyists, though we do advocate and work in Olympia, that is not our focus. Our focus is we want to inform, educate, empower the non-farming public.”
Because the farmers, Tindall says are doing the right things …
TINDALL … “These are individuals who are selfless in many respects, in what they’re doing and their operations, as their trying their best and their hardest to grow good food, good quality food that is going to feed those throughout the state and throughout the world.”
Tindall, who’s been on the job for about a month now, says it’s exciting …
TINDALL … “I’m very eager to work with the team I’ve got, very eager to work with the different ag leaders throughout the state. So, it’s a, right now I’m really looking forward to it and I’m having a lot of fun in the process.”
