Challenges for Fresh Produce Supply and Legislative Milestone for AM Radio
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.**Global challenges, including weather extremes, geopolitical tensions and a decreasing, more expensive workforce continue to affect players along the fresh produce supply chain.
These observations were reported by RaboResearch Food and Agribusiness in its report, “The state of the global fresh produce industry.”
The report says blueberries were especially hard hit, noting the berry was absent last fall in many U.S. supermarkets.
**The radio industry hit an important milestone as the number of lawmakers in the House who back efforts to make AM radio mandatory in vehicles reached 200.
The list has grown even as the proposed AM Radio in Every Vehicle Act has yet to make much legislative progress.
Insider Radio says the growth in support could be critical if bill sponsors try to attach the measure to a piece of must-pass legislation like a spending bill.
**The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association strongly supports the Death Tax Repeal Act introduced in both the House and Senate.
NCBA says it’s unconscionable for cattle producers to face a tax that forces them to sell off all or part of their assets, including land, farm equipment, and even their home, farm or ranch due to a death in the family.
Current death tax relief expires at the end of 2025.
