Dogs and Cats II Yesterday I told you I had proof a great idea for one person might not be so good for me. I'm Jeff Keane and today I'll finish with my proof. My friend Dale shaved his cow dog Hoss for the summer to look like an African lion. The dog was the right color and did carry himself proudly showing off his haircut. That image of Hoss stayed in my mind way too long and just kind of fermented there. Mom had a longhaired cat that always had trouble with cheat grass getting stuck in his coat. Well, that cat strolled by the window one day when Mom wasn't home and I couldn't stand it any longer. I needed a partner so I told my brother, Dane about Hoss and how that cat would look even more like a lion. Younger brother had a lapse of good sense and thought I had a good idea. We rummaged through the cupboards and found the old electric hair clippers. Next we got an extension cord and set up shop on the back porch. We called the cat. My brother always was a cat man and had a real way with felines so he held the cat. I measured how much tuft should be left on the tail and started trimming. He actually liked the tail trimming and we ended up with a nice job. Now just the body and this cat wouldn't have any problems with cheat grass what a great idea. As the clipper left the tail and touched his body that cat transformed into the very lion we were trying to make him look like he went up and down my brother's arm spitting, snarling and clawing about three times and was gone. It took the luster off my idea. But you know that cat was proud of his tail and held it just a little higher that whole summer. I'm Jeff Keane.
