Dogs and Cats
What turns out to be a great idea for one person might not be even an average idea for me. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be right back with the proof.
A few years my friend Dale had a cow dog that was a cross between a purebred English Shepard female and a Border Collie cross male that liked to visit with the ladies in his area. Dale's dog, Hoss, was the result of one of those visits. Hoss turned out be a good cow dog that was smart and tough. You know, smart enough to be sent over at least one hill and tough enough to bring the cows back. Hoss was a good-sized dog with a long-haired tawny and black coat. Dale would shave Hoss in the hot part of the summer, but not totally. Dale's dry sense of humor forced him to shave Hoss to look like a lion complete with a tuft on his tail and a nice black mane. Hoss like his haircut and Dale said he would give a little smile just like he was saying thank you, I'll be cool the rest of the summer. Hoss looked every bit as regal as the real king of beasts as he trotted around the ranch surveying his kingdom. See a fine idea that turned out good for Dale and Hoss. Another buddy of mine and I went to Dale's to practice roping one evening and when I saw Hoss I just had to get the story I was impressed. The trouble was that picture of Hoss proudly showing off his "do" stayed in my head. Anything staying in my head is unique and I'll tell you how I tried to use Dale's idea tomorrow. I'm Jeff Keane.
