L'Ecole in Top 100 Again Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. Another huge honor for Walla Walla valley winery, L’Ecole No 41 that was recognized by Wine & Spirits Magazine as a Top 100 Winery.I asked Ryan Pennington, L’Ecole’s Chief Operating Officer, if that was Top 100 in the nation or the world? …
PENNINGTON … “Yeah, it’s the Top 100 Wineries in the World and we are just so honored and humbled to be included amongst such esteemed wineries from all over the world, and for the 17th time no less.”
And 17, Pennington says puts them in some selective company …
PENNINGTON … “We’re one of only 16 wineries in the world to have achieved this recognition at least that many times. So, it’s just an incredible honor.”
Have any other Washington wineries been honored so many times? …
PENNINGTON … “We’re one of relatively few. I believe Chateau Ste. Michelle has also been named to this list several times. So, we’re very honored to be in terrific company.”
Pennington says L’Ecole is credited now as a “Premier Cru Winery …
PENNINGTON … “That’s a title they’ve given to the wineries that are on the list. So, they have a list of the Top 100 Wineries and they’ve just designated them as Premier Cru Wineries.”
Tune in tomorrow for more on L’Ecole No 41’s prestigious notoriety.
