Washington Ag June 27, 2006 The Washington Contract Loggers Association, the Washington Friends of Farms and Forests, and the Washington Cattlemen's Association have joined what the Washington Farm Bureau says is a growing list of groups that support Initiative 933, the Farm Bureau's Property Fairness Initiative.
Cattlemen's Executive Vice President Jack Field says the WCA executive committee voted in May to support I-933 and then last week it voted to offer financial support.
Field: "We've got long term policy supporting enforcement of our state and federal Constitution and we strongly believe in the efforts that the Farm Bureau is taking to protect property rights. So we felt it was key that we step forward and help them out and we hoping that our membership will fall in line with that as well.
The Farm Bureau meanwhile is urging volunteers to send in signature petitions in support of I-933 by July 1st to ensure they are received in time to be delivered to the Secretary of State's office by July 7th.
