BL: Welcome back to another “Fruit Bites” brought to you by Valent U.S.A. With us again is Valent’s Allison Walston. And this week Allison, we are talking about upcoming precision ag technology.

AW: Precision agriculture brings technology to the forefront of fruit production. As you may know, Valent is launching a new apple and peach thinning material called Accede. We are simultaneously using precision ag to take a deep dive into the data analytics from years of trial work. For example, there are hundreds of varieties of peaches and nectarines, and they respond differently to Accede thinning. So, we analyze data to answer What are the variables that most influence efficacy?

BL: what can the data analysis reveal?

AW: We can write better and more concise label use instructions. Help give better technical information to growers and determine if there is potential or need to develop an application timing model. Learning and being able to predict how peach, nectarine or apple varieties respond to Accede thinning is how Valent is using precision agriculture to support our brands.

BL: Well, thanks Allison. Join us again next time for Fruit Bites, brought to you by Valent. Until then, I’m Bob Larson.
