4/27/06 Bird flu and Mad Cow

The fifth case of mad cow was recently found in Canada ? So do you rethink that rare hamburger? What about bird flue? You worried that mallard making a kamikaze landing on the pond could be the "one" migrating bird that brings the epidemic to the US? Pretty scary stuff. The media loves to show us clips of masked men in white suits parading through chicken farms. Yet with Asia's massive population, reportedly only 110 people have died from bird flue. How many from cigarettes? Mad cow is another smoking gun. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than contracting mad cow from beef. Having my 17 year old son was killed last year I find I simply have no tolerance for those who instigate and manipulate public paranoia over minute heath threats or those who fret about them . They are murderers, because in they take the spotlight from preventable health and safety issues; cancers, STD's, heart disease that we should be worrying about. That's forethought!
