Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said in his recent press conference the data and science are clear that the COVID vaccine is working.

“We’re seeing a 93%-95% reduction in positive cases of COVID among vaccinated people compared to non-vaccinated people. So the vaccines are functioning exactly as advertised. It’s not a surprise but it’s really good to see. “

But with a 4th wave rolling through the state officials are concerned that too few Coloradans are getting the shots.

To that end and with agriculture in mind, Ag Commissioner Kate Greenberg sent a message about ag-focused COVID Resources.

Among the resources specifically targeting ag and rural families are

several buses which were outfitted to be mobile vaccination clinics. Each bus is equipped to administer up to 500 shots a day. The buses have been traveling to rural populations that are unable to access the Community Vaccinations Sites or other provider locations. Greenberg’s message says that anyone interested in bringing a mobile vaccination unit to their community should contact their local public health department.

Additionally, the CDA, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and the Colorado State Emergency Operations Center have put together an ag-focused social media toolkit for ag workers and businesses. The resources include outreach messaging and graphics focused on eligibility, vaccine safety, locations, expectations, call center info, and more.

Agriculture employers can go to www.Ag.colorado.gov for that communications toolkit.
