I’m Bob Larson. The Potato Expo 2021, scheduled for January 5-7 in the Dallas, Texas area, is switching formats, due to COVID restrictions, to a virtual, online format.

National Potato Council CEO Kam Quarels says all the normal elements will be there for you online, with only the face-to-face contact missing …

QUARLES … “The only thing that’s missing really is being able to shake hands with folks and being able to look across the table at them, but the interaction, in terms of being able to get information about their product or service, it’s all going to be right there. You’ll have live people that you’re talking to.”

Registration for the virtual Potato Expo, Quarles says is easy to do …

QUARLES … “You still need to register. The registration will be opening this week. You just go to www.potato-expo.com and you’ll be able to register there and you’ll see the whole format for everything.”

So, the move had to be made, Quarles says, but it should still be a lot of fun …

QUARLES … “It was two months out and we needed to make a decision. I think we made the right one for this year given all the uncertainty. So, that is www.potato-expo.com . Everything will be live this week and folks can sign up and register and we encourage them to do it. We think it’s going to be fun.”

Again, registration is now open. Just go to www.potato-expo.com to get signed up for Potato Expo 2021. Potato Expo 2022 will be held in Anaheim.
