I’m Bob Larson. Despite many pandemic closures, the Ag World Golf Classic, that raises funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Spokane, is still on for August 13th in Moses Lake, at this point.

Ag World Support Systems President Bryan Henninger says this will be their seventh year …

HENNINGER … “Last year was our sixth year and in one tournament we were able to raise over a hundred thousand dollars that went to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest, which is located in Spokane.”

Which, Henninger says serves a specific purpose …

HENNINGER … “You know, people think of the Ronald McDonald House and they think, what’s it for? Well, it’s not for the local people that live in Spokane. It’s for the people from out of town that, all of the sudden, their kids having an issue and they’ve got to be at a bigger hospital, like Spokane, to help their child survive.”

And, Henninger says it helps many of our friends and neighbors …

HENNINGER … “40% of the people that got to the Ronald McDonald House are from the Columbia Basin, from Moses Lake down to Tri-Cities. So, we’re really trying to help a cause that does serve our population.”

Under difficult circumstances, they hope to keep it going …

HENNINGER … “We’re hoping to raise a similar amount of money this year. With our golfers, we’ve got about 110 golfers already signed up and, when we’re running our numbers, we could go up to 200 golfers for this tournament style where you have Tee Times.”
