One of the aspects I enjoy most about my job is exposing hypocrisy when I see it and oh it is rampant in agriculture. If O'Reilly can have his" No Spin Zone" I should be able to award the tarnished "Hypocrisy Halo" to the most vocal hypocrites Here are a few of my favorites, We all know that sustainalbity is the new buzz word. Have you noticed sustainability is always used in context with bucolic little organic farms located in close proximity to suburbia and typically only a few years old. Ironically, my wheat and cattle rancher friends who have maintained their operations often for four generations are never included in this classification, yet who is really sustainable? Big is BAD, very bad in farming. If you visit the ice cream makers Ben and Jerry's web site you'll how they demonize BIG, especially big dairies&interesting that the brother's didn't see green pastures, rather BIG green bucks when they sold out for millions to Big, Big, Big, Unilever Corporation one of the largest conglomerates in the world, Funny how being big happens to be fine Ben and Jerry, but not farmers. So two very tarnished hypocrite halos for Ben and Jerry. I'm Susan Allen and this is Food Forethought.
