California Grown Thanksgiving

A California Thanksgiving is pretty much like no other. That’s because as California Ag Today’s Patrick Cavanaugh reports most of the food on the table comes from local ranchers and growers.

Cavanaugh: While California is number 7 in turkey production we do supply most of the western states. The famous Cubbison sauce we all use comes from the California gal Sophie Cubbison who was born in 1890 in the San Marcos area of San Diego County. A factory in Commerce California churns it out this time of year. Farmers in California produce almonds, walnuts, pistachios , pecans, raisins, prunes, figs, dates, apricots and pomegranates. These are all Thanksgiving items.
