As you make your holiday list, the State Department of Ag says you can help an ag producer by choosing a state grown ag product for gift giving.

Wendy White, Marketing Specialist at the Department of Agriculture says this a really the best time to highlight state produced products for locals and out of towners.

"We really do have a wide variety of products available year round and the Colorado Department of Agriculture has a variety of resources available to help consumers connect with our local producers for the holidays. We have the Colorado Food and Agriculture Gift Guide available at www.ColoradoProud.org. It lists a variety of gift items from foods and snack items to sweets and alpaca socks and beeswax candles."

White says you can also see a Christmas tree list and get information about where you can find you pick tree farms or all the details you'll need if you plan to go to a state forest and cut one yourself.

In 2019 the Department of Ag will be celebrating the Colorado Proud Marketing programs 20th anniversary. White says they'll be looking for input as they make plans to celebrate and possibly some tweaks to the program in the future.
