CO Wheat County Meetings and Elections
Colorado wheat farmers are invited to attend and participate in the annual county business meetings and elections jointly sponsored by the Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee and Colorado Association of Wheat Growers. These business meetings and elections will be held January 9th through the 12 at eight different locations. CO Assn of Wheat Growers Director of Communications Katharine Lotspeich shares more about the business meeting agendaLotspeich: "The meeting part of it is really just an update of what is going on in the wheat industry in Colorado. This year attendees will hear organizational updates from our Colorado Wheat organization presidents. They will also be accompanied by Dr. Todd Gaines whose the associate professor at Colorado State University. His research focus is molecular weed science and he is going to be providing attendees with an update about some new research and a new herbicide-tolerant trait that is coming out. So it is going to be jam-packed full of information. We really encourage our producers — or anyone interested in Colorado Wheat industry — to get out there and get involved with us. We'd love to have everyone's participation."
County-level representatives for both wheat organizations will be elected at these meetings as well. Lotspeich adds
Lotspeich: "We're absolutely happy to see everyone. We do strongly ask for a RSVP so that we can ensure that there is enough food for everyone. Anyone who is interested is able to RSVP on our website at coloradowheat.org. It is just a simple RSVP form and there is no cost to attend.
