Colorado Proud Monthly Recipe and AgriTourism Guides

Fall has finally arrived and with it comes many different family-friendly activities across the state from corn maizes to pumpkin patches. Colorado Department of Agriculture Marketing Specialist Wendy White gives more details
White: “Well it is hard to believe it is October and time for pumpkin patches and corn maizes. So the Colorado Department of Agriculture has a great resource on our website to help people find those fall activities for their families. So the corn maize and pumpkin patches list is available online coloradoagriculture.com. It lists fall festivals and corn maizes and pumpkin patches across the state as well as a wide variety of agritourism activities. So it is the perfect guide to find those fun fall family festivities to take the kids to.”
October also features a new Colorado Proud recipe featuring carrots as White continues
White: “Well we are featuring carrots for October in an oven-roasted carrots recipe. I think something people don’t realize is that they are most familiar with carrots being orange but they come in a wide variety of colors. So you can find purple, white, yellow, red carrots and they can really add a lot of color to dishes in the fall. So this is a great recipe for people to enjoy Colorado carrots in October.”
Don’t forget that carrots are fat free, low in sodium, an excellent source of Vitamin A and a good source of Vitamin C. White adds
White: “Visit coloradoproud.org for information about the recipe or agritourism activities. We always have a lot of helpful information online.”
