CO Agricultural Leadership Program Looking For Class 13 Members

If you are a Colorado farmer, rancher or involved in an agribusiness and are a lifelong learner whose passionate about agriculture, have you considered applying for the Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program?

This dynamic organization provides a two-year leadership program to industry members looking to more about the state's diverse agriculture as well as honing leadership skills. Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program Executive Director Cathy Calderwood shares more details about the program.

Calderwood: "It is a two-year leadership program. We met roughly every other month in a seminar around the state — we move it around the state — and learn about agriculture in each sector of the state. What is happening in that area — what their challenges are, what their opportunities are. While we are out in an area of the state we spend time out in the field learning about agriculture really get out there and do some tours and one-on-one in the industry. Then we spend some time in the classroom learning about specific leadership skills — like communication skills, media relations, public speaking — a lot of different issues in developing their specific skills."
