Most of us, myself included, simply fail to understand the impact the energy crisis has on our daily lives. Myopically we complain vocally about the injustice of emptying our wallets at the pump, while we are remarkably silent when environmentalists keep a tight
grip on the political strings that control solutions like drilling in locations where only the wealthiest among us will ever visit Even alternative "green" energy sources are under attack by elitist environmentalists like the Kennedy clan who proactively promote alternative energy as long as it isn't in their back yard, and they arrogantly believe it encompasses the whole Nantucket Sound. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently hosted an "anti-wind-farm" cruise and had the wind blown out of his sails when even "greener" Greenpeace buzzed the gala on rafts calling him out on his hypocrisy. Virtually all of our food, clothing and furnishing require energy for production and transportation. The price of gas will be the least of our worries if we complacently continue on as the silent majority. I'm Susan Allen and this is Food Forethought.
