It's FFA Week

This is the week each year that we celebrate all things FFA as it is the National FFA Organization’s FFA Week. For many of us who participated in FFA — there is a lot to be thankful for. Personally I appreciate what I gained: leadership, parliamentary procedure and public speaking skills and life long friendships.
Since 1928, FFA has been making a difference in young people’s lives. There are nearly 7,760 chapters across the nation as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. How has FFA made a difference in your life or the lives of your kids?
The many opportunities available to students through FFA is vast. Something I’ve enjoyed is watching young people began their participation in FFA — perhaps a bit hesitant, unsure or nervous — by the time they are at the end of their FFA experience they are confident, articulate and well spoken.
Check out what your local chapter is doing this week. Maybe take a quick minute to reflect on what you gained by being involved in a FFA program. If you aren’t involved with your local chapter, reach out and find out if they need volunteers or mentors.
