National Western Stock Show Needs Media Interns

January will be here before we know it and with it comes the annual National Western Stock Show. Attention college undergrads who may be interested in a media internship — there are four positions available. National Pork Board’s Producer Outreach and Marketing Manager Kylee Deniz who helps to coordinate the National Western’s internship program shares more details about this exciting opportunity.
Deniz: “Writers, photographers, social media gurus — all those type of students with a passion for the livestock industry. Obviously the internship takes place at the National Western each year — so some interest and background is good to have. The students will be doing anything from attending the livestock shows and events over the two week stretch to writing human interest stories and press releases and managing social media channels. Then a big component is capturing photography around the National grounds as well as in the show ring. Each intern will receive a $500 scholarship, plus all of their lodging will be taken care of and some of their meals will be provided.”
Deadline to apply is November 20th. Deniz adds
Deniz: “There is four interns total. Two January 13th through 17th and then two interns January 20th through the 24th. So they submit their cover letter indicating their internship week of preference, resume as well as two work staples which could include writing or photography.”
