Off the Grid & Salmon Recovery. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report.

OR-7, the now famous wolf in Oregon has stopped broadcasting. The battery in his tracking collar has died but according to John Stephenson with U.S. Fish & Wildlife they are still in contact.

STEPHENSON: We haven't lost contact. We're still monitoring them. We would like to capture one of the adults in the pack and get a collar on just to keep tabs on where they're spending time. We do actually have a pretty good idea because we have over a years worth of data since he paired up with the female.

A meeting is schedule for the 9th in Salem to discuss removing Oregon's wolves from the endangered species list.

NOAA Fisheries has ramped up its ongoing efforts for comprehensive salmon and steelhead recovery with the creation of a new Columbia Basin Partnership, a collaborative group representing multiple entities with common but sometimes divergent interests. Backers of the Partnership are seeking letters of interest or nominations for those who might serve on the forum by Nov. 12. According to NOAA's Barry Thom, the goal is to provide a collaborative forum "to reconcile overlapping efforts for salmon and steelhead into a consistent and comprehensive set of integrated goals that provide a common path forward."

That's today's Northwest Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
