Bending Water

Bending Water. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

In today's market, it is more important than ever for growers to make the most of cropland to get the highest possible yield. For many growers, this means irrigating land that may be difficult to reach with traditional center pivots. Rich Panowicz, the Valley Irrigation Vice President of North American Sales, talks about their new Bender Anchor product line.

PANOWICZ: It's an extension of products we released several years ago, our Bender product line which applies to both the Bender 30 and the Bender 160 and the numbers there indicate how far the machine can bend at a bend point. And what the anchor packages do, like I say, it's an extension that allows you to bend a longer portion of the machine where before we were a bit limited because the farther you bend out with the towers the more pull there is at that point. So this helps anchor that position.

It allows you to be able to pick up more acres, especially on longer machines.

PANOWICZ: Sometimes you'll run into a situation where the machine may be twelve towers long and let's say you want to bend at the third tower, well you pick up quite a few acres on those other nine towers that are being around but those nine towers can put a pretty good pull out on that tower so this anchors it into that location.
