Farm Credit Celebrates 100 Years By Supporting Rural Leaders
Farm Credit is entering its 100 year of service to rural communities and agriculture this month with a nation-wide search for 100 individuals who will have a positive impact on shaping the future. Senior Vice President of national communications Leigh Picchetti says this Farm Credit Fresh Perspectives 100 program is seeking 100 individuals who are making a difference in their communitiesPicchetti: “There are ten categories across in which we are looking for leaders — some of those are youth leadership, rural policy influence, mentorship and volunteerism. From the 100 people selected and announced next March in conjunction with Ag Day. One from each of those 10 categories will receive special recognition. The top 10 selected — one from each category — will be invited to participate in a special event in Washington, D.C. next June. In addition those 10 outstanding individuals will receive a$10,000 award to help them further their contribution to rural communities.”
