Now I am a marketing aficionado. You know the type that would rather watch a super bowl commercial then the game? So I applaud the efforts of a group of cattlemen who have joined forces to develop the Cattlemen's Competitive Market Project to make sure that consumers know what beef was raised in the USA and most importantly what wasn't. You see I believe with all my heart that the majority of us given the choice would always buy American beef. The problem these cattlemen found is that with current USDA labels most consumers mistakenly believe there are buying a US raised product when in fact the USDA label is also applied to imports. So these savvy marketers came up with the tag "USA raised Beef & Ask for it!" logo, and are funding the campaign through voluntary contributions collected when cattle are sold. We already know that "Beef, it's what's for Dinner". Now it's time to make sure it is "USA raised beef & Ask for it!" I'm Susan Allen with Food Forethought.
