Ask A Farmer Provides Answers

Those of us involved in ag often spend time answering questions about agriculture of family and friends not involved in agriculture. I’m always looking for informative social media active people and groups who are responding positively to consumers questions about ag.
Dairy farmer and very active on social media, Krista Stauffer shares more about a great Facebook group with lots of ag diversity willing to answer questions about farming — Ask a Farmer — which began with a Facebook page and expanded from there.
Stauffer: “From the Facebook page went to a blog, and Twitter and Instagram. We have 60 members. We take turns — everybody writes a blog post — we focus on questions that we get asked about our farm. So it is quite the diversification — we have organic, conventional, soy, corn, dairy, beef — everything you can think of we’ve got it. We have a farmer’s market vendor. So we just try to keep it flowing and keep the content coming. It is really great.”
Stauffer also coordinates a private Facebook page for women AgVocates as well as her own blog The Farmer’s Wifee. She shares more about the Women AgVocate page which begat the Ask the Farmer
Stauffer: “I started a group called Women AgVocates on Facebook. I started reaching out to fellow agvocates who I admired that I thought who were doing a really amazing job - -who are respectful and tactful. We created this group — I think that we are about 300 women. We were just having just amazing conversations and discussions and we had so many people from so many different backgrounds.”
