National Farm-to-School Network
Simpson: “Organizations and schools and individuals who are looking to make farm to school connections can come to our website — farmtoschool.org — and find a number of resources and information, fact sheets about how to start farm to school for the first time. Or more in-depth information like food safety regulations and there is information for farmers, teachers and everyone who is part of the process.”
So in addition to being a great resource for all things farm to school — the website also helps those looking to connect on a local level with the farm to school movement.
Simpson: “One of the key pieces we play in the movement as networking hub is to have state leads and regional leads on the ground in the 50 states and 8 regions across the country. One of the things that I would tell any farmer or any other individual looking to connect with farm to school practices or others working on farm-to-school. They should get in touch with their state lead and they can do that through our website.”
October is National Farm to School Month. Next week we will visit about different ways to celebrate.
