Proactive Vet Care

Proactive Vet Care

I think most people would agree that being proactive in their personal health care is a preferred mode of action. Why should it be any different for your livestock?
Veterinarian Dr. Fred Muller and Managing Partner of Ag Health Labs says that his company assists dairymen and ranchers in proactively assessing their herd health, analysis of feed in addition to the traditional veterinarian services. He shares the vision for the company.
Muller: “The business as a whole is trying to develop more and more of a proactive consulting business. We will continue to provide traditional vet services as well or as needed — though it isn’t where we see ourselves being valuable to producers in the future and even today we need to move into more into a role of helping producers — both dairy and beef— in their decision making process of how do we manage cattle. How do we set up treatment or vaccination protocols. Helping them asses whether their performance or profitability is improving. We want to continue to maintain and improve performance and economic viability of our clients. That is the direction we are heading.”
