Cattle Barons Weekend

I’m KayDee Gilkey and welcome to Open Range. Here’s Greg with today’s report.

Thanks KayDee. Well get ready for a good time in Pendleton as this weekend is Cattle Barons. Pat Beard talks about how things get kicked off on Friday.

BEARD: We’re going to start with the cattleman’s workshop and breakfast. This is for ranchers, cattleman. It’s sponsored by NW Farm Credit Services and then were going to start into a little bit of a workshop with Umatilla County Cattleman’s Association. Then the highlight of the morning will be a Cute Pate stockmanship program

Another highlight is the preview for the select gelding and working dog sale.

BEARD: You are going to see horses and dogs previewed in real life situations. If you are interested in a dog or a horse or are fans of just good horses and dogs, you need to come and see it. Then all day Friday the Trade and Post Trade show is open in the convention center and it’s handmade western items of every kind from saddles and bits and spurs to home decorating ideas. Anything western, you’ll see it there.

The bit, spur and engraving show is also going on as well. Most of these events like the trade show go on Saturday as well. For a complete schedule of events, be sure and check out their website at www.cattlebarons.net

I’m Greg Martin and that’s today’s AgriBeef Minute.

Thanks Greg. Don’t forget Greg will be back each Wednesday with the AgriBeef Minute. Agri Beef Co - Real Families, Great People, Exceptional Beef. I’m KayDee Gilkey.
