Once in a while I get down on the world and think it’s going to hell in hand basket. Then I get redeemed by something… Such as the speech you are about to hear. “My name is Dixie Johnson and I am a senior at Weiser high school and I am also on the speech and debate team. My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman and a preacher. But every day, three times a day, you need a farmer. There are 25,359 farms in Idaho covering well over11,800,000 acres of land. I found this quote relevant. Idaho may not be the greatest agricultural producer in the United States but it is what we are known for. When you ask anyone across the country what they think of when they think of Idaho, their mind goes straight to potatoes. In fact, agricultural leader JR Simplot invented McDonald’s french fries which can be purchased around the world. That is amazing and Idaho agriculture is amazing. I am here to tell you why. We will first plow into the statistics of Idaho agriculture and following that, I will plant the seeds of knowledge concerning the exports of Idaho in your minds and to finish I will help you store the information you have learned about Idaho today and Idaho’s future.
