Change is Only Constant

History has always held a fascination for me and it always amazes me how we tend to think that the current trends and issues haven’t been experienced before. McGregor Company President Alex McGregor recently shared

McGregor: “Agriculture has changed a lot over the years. We sometimes say that change is the only constant. And yet, I think of the deep seated values that unite all of us associated with agriculture. When my grandfather and great-uncle got their first operating loan to buy a band of sheep — 2,000 ewes and their lambs — for $5,000 at 18 percent interest way back in 1885. They made the comment that they qualified for that loan by displaying five traits that they felt would always be crucial to agriculture — industry, work, character, honesty and fair dealings.”

Now even though that story doesn’t have anything to do with Valentine’s Day — it does share some emotional elements with the Heart-filled holiday — that being passion for and love of agriculture. McGregor continues

McGregor: “Those are the things that makes agriculture special today. Deeply held values, a passion for making a difference, delight in feeding people around the globe. Agricultural is a special place and it is made up of dedicated farm families. It is a pleasure to be a part of that.”

I couldn’t agree more. Take time today to let the people who mean the most to you know how you feel.
