We may be getting closer to a farm bill deal but what is going to happen with the nutrition part of the bill. Washington Congressman Doc Hastings

HASTINGS: I had a brief conversation with the Chairman yesterday and he was cautiously optimistic that something would be pout together. There's on-going discussions but I can't guess as to what the final outcome would be on that. I certainly don't see the food stamp program going away. Now there may be some adjustments to it. There may be different qualifications to qualify for the food stamp program which I think honestly makes sense because there were people that were getting food stamps that simply weren't qualified.

Fewer people will be traveling this next week for the holiday according to new figures from AAA who projects 43.4 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, a decrease of 1.5 percent from the 44 million people who traveled last year. While the economy continues to improve, the sluggish pace of the recovery is creating uncertainty in the minds of some consumers and therefore AAA is projecting a slight decline in the number of Thanksgiving travelers this year.
