Big wigs in town. Speaker of the house John Boehner was in Boise last week raising money for Congressman Mike Simpson. I met the Congressman at a local restaurant. "Congressman, how is Mr. Boehner being received by your constituency in Idaho? he is being received very well. We had a great event today, he is out to support me, we raised quite a bit of money, he has been a friend of mine since I went to Congress and I was glad to have him here because the John Boehner you see on TV is different than the John Boehner in person. If you know John Boehner's history, he is the second oldest of 12 children so he grew up in a big family. He used to work at his family's Café mopping the floor, waiting on tables and washing dishes, he put himself through college working odd jobs, met his wife while working as a night janitor in college and then he opened a small business in plastics, had to make a payroll and pay taxes and meet with the red tape of the government, so he is a real person. He has done real world stuff like most of us. People don't get a chance to see that. I think he is an excellent Speaker who was just trying to create a smaller, less intrusive, more cost effective government with lower taxes.
