EU Furious & Caution Urged

EU Furious & Caution Urged plus Making Camping Educational. I’m Greg Martin with today’s Northwest Report.

European leaders are furious over allegations the U.S. spied on EU diplomatic offices and computer networks. One former U.S. Trade official says that doesn’t help transatlantic trade talks important for U.S. agriculture. Former Clinton USDA Trade Adviser - and a trade negotiator before that - Paul Drazek - says the allegations of U.S. spying - the latest fallout from the Snowden-NSA leaks - could affect the level of trust at transatlantic talks.

DRAZEK: If the folks that you are negotiating with know what your positions going to be and what flexibilities you have ahead of time then they have a big advantage.

Extreme caution is still being urged as holiday travelers and campers head out. With the high heat and no moisture the fire index is very high. Everyone is being urged to use extreme caution this weekend as the 4th holiday weekend stretches to 4 days. Not only are fireworks a major cause but campfires and even the exhaust on vehicles can ignite grass fires. Several wildfires are burning in the northwest and with experts saying there is a lot of fuel on the ground in forest areas, it could spell disaster. Please use extreme caution this weekend.

If you are heading out on that camping trip this weekend Rod Bain has some ideas on how to make it fun and educational for the kids.
