4-24 IAN Beef Savings

A way to save money on beef.

I got on the phone with Traci Braccho  the other day and we discussed the price of beef. “Many consumers are feeling their pocketbooks squeezed. Unfortunately all food prices have gone up and we see no sign of this reversing anytime soon. Analysts are predicting that beef is going to have about a 3% increase over the next 12 months. The good news is that with beef there are a lot of products to choose from no matter what your budget is. Beef is very versatile and can be cooked with a lot of applications, it can be an  ingredient as well as the mainstay on your plate. Beef is also routinely featured on ads at the grocery store. Savvy shoppers can watch the circulars and newspapers for sales. For example, one of the large grocery retailers and state recently featured  petite sirloin’s at $2.99 a pound for their Maxpack. That is a really great buy. You might wonder for a small family buying that much beef, what do you do with the rest of it? Beef can be frozen for up to 6 months.
