4-9 SS Philosophy
A strong and commendable philosophical posture of a true outdoorsman.
Eddie Sanchez makes his living as a guide and outfitter whether it be hunting monster elk, mule deer, mountain lions or, the other part of the outdoorsman’s world, saltwater fishing. What I find particularly endearing about Eddie is his philosophy behind harvesting whatever it is that he is interested in. This guy is not part of the fly in, shoot fish in the barrel, get a trophy, and flex your muscles in front of friends and business partners.Part of hunting, as most hunters are, is harvesting the meat and utilizing that for home. We enjoy it. We don’t have to have it, you can go to a grocery store and buy meat but it is not the same. We enjoy the meat of what we harvest and I know a lot of people hunt and they do not care about it but I do not agree with that. I think if you are going to kill an animal, you need to respect that animal and part of the respect is to utilize every part of it as it should be and that is why that animal was put on this earth was for us to be able to eat. And again, I know that is not what we have to do because you can go to the grocery store but it is not the same. Remember, the animals at the grocery store are also giving their lives for us to eat.
