Water Rights Deadline, Scoping Meetings, & RMA Reminder Dates
The Washington Department of Ecology would like to remind applicants for new water rights in Sub-basin 31 of the Yakima River basin that they have until December 14 to indicate how they would like their request to be processed. The DOE is asking applicants to consider a number of options to help the agency in making permit decisions about their proposed water use in the context of study results. To date, the agency has received responses from about one-third of the those applicants in Benton County.
The Department of Ecology’s remaining two statewide scoping meetings for the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal Project will be held this week on Wednesday in Vancouver and onThursday in Seattle. Information gathered at these meetings will help define study matter in the upcoming environmental impact statement for the Cherry Point export terminal.
Jo Lynne Seufer with the USDA’s Risk Management Agency would like to remind producers of the quickly approaching winter and spring sales closing dates for Multiple Peril Crop Insurance programs.
SEUFER: We really want to remind producers that right after the first of the year we have important sales closing dates coming up. One of them being January 31, which is the final date to buy or change Adjusted Gross Revenue insurance in select counties of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. January 31 is also the final date to submit required documents to continue or change Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite insurance for existing policy holders, and that’s available in all counties of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The very next day, February 1, is the final date to buy or change crop insurance coverage for our 2013 spring planted onions in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, as well as cabbage in Oregon and Washington.
