 Pheasants Forever is celebrating a big birthday. Their website says “Fed up with wildlife habitat losses taking place, and spurred to action by a column from Dennis Anderson, Outdoor Editor at the Saint Paul (Minnesota) Pioneer Press and Dispatch, avid pheasant hunters and conservationists helped form Pheasants Forever in 1982. Since then, the organization has grown steadily and expanded its wildlife habitat conservation mission across much of the United States and parts of Canada. Spokesperson Rehan Nana: “Pheasants Forever is dedicated to preservation of pheasant, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs. How we accomplish that is that we are a grassroots organization. You just said we are celebrating our 30th anniversary, tell me about that if you will. Sure. Pheasants Forever Started in 1982 and our birthday was actually August 5. Since that time we have put on the ground a program that is enhanced over 8.5 million acres of habitat throughout the United States. That is something that I am very proud of and everybody here at Pheasants Forever is proud of and in addition to that our organization has grown over the past 30 years to over 130,000 members across the United States and over 720 chapters between Pheasants Forever and we also have our quail division which is Quail Forever which was started in 2005 on August 10 so there are 2 birthdays right in a row, 30 years and 7 years.
