8-24 SS Vest Rainbow

3 and a half inch rainbow on a flyfishing vest. I guess that needs explaining.

 Golfing buddy and over-the-top flyfishing enthusiast and expert, Pete Edmunds has done so much flyfishing that he has 1 million stories… and I might add, they are all true. This one defies all odds and certainly bears telling. “I was out fishing with a buddy and we are up on the Salmon River above Dagger Falls and there is a very nice cutthroat fishery with a lot of little rainbows in there. We got into shallow water and he was about 25 feet upstream and I was fishing and I let my line gets straight. I get this hit and it is amazing how feisty these little rainbows are because I gave it the famous hook set and here comes this little wide-eyed, 3 1/2 inch rainbow trout that goes sailing past me over my right shoulder and this guy is watching and the fish comes like a silver bullet. He’s got a vest on and everybody has a little wool patch to hold flies that they are not using and he had some kind of a salmon fly in there. But by was kind of folded out a little bit so the fish which I have slung 25 feet upstream hits him right in the fishing vest on his hook patch and gets tangled up in those hooks. My line comes back to me and he has a 3 1/2 inch rainbow wiggling on his fly patch on his vest.
