American Idol, NFR Idol, Really! If you’ve ever wanted to sing the Star Spangled Banner in the world’s most famous rodeo arena you’d better stay tuned. I’m Susan Allen and  Open Range will be back right after the break to tell you  how you can perform at the  next National Finals Rodeo without roping or riding. Given the popularity of American Idol the Las Vegas Events and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association teamed brainstormed a bit and came up with a contest designed to find three national anthem singers for the Wrangler National Finals rodeo in Las Vegas this coming December.  Winners will perform in the Thomas and Mack prior to the start of one Wrangler round of the finals, receive roundtrip air faire for two to Vegas, two nights hotel accommodations plus a pair of tickets to the night they perform along with having their name and picture in the souvenir program. To qualify you must have volunteered or worked at a PRCA rodeo. The contest ends September 14 and if you visit NFRExperience.com you’ll find rules and  more details including how to upload your version of the Star Spangled  Banner to YouTube for contest judging. Lets hope that with the winners, this time what happens in Vegas goes viral.
