03/01/05 Governor`s Award Winner, Silver

A lot of people in Canyon County have nice things to say about Lary Silver and not only for his work with the Farm Service Agency. LARRY STORY "The first time I met Lary its just like you've known him forever because he really makes you feel very comfortable when you're around him. He really goes the extra step to represent the people in ag in Canyon County. DARRELL BOLZ "Take his vacation time to spend a week down at the fair to work with the 4-H Youth kids and such." Silver was honored for his educational and advocacy work on behalf of agriculture. SILVER "At St Louis, Missouri at a national convention they presented me with this Missouri potato and asked if we had any in Idaho that could top that. Of course I said we did. My family is very close, means a lot of me and we've always found time to do things together as a family. I think a lot of young people today aren't taking that time which is a mistake. And I hope I've been an example for my kids and I feel I have because all three of my children and their spouses are very active and donate their time for the good cause of helping people."
