Insurance deadline reminder

Washington Ag Today January 27, 2011 Next Monday, January 31st is an important federal crop insurance deadline. Jo Lynn Seufer with the regional Risk Management Office of USDA explains.

Seufer: “January 31 is the final date for producers to obtain or change their Adjusted Gross Revenue Insurance. And then also it is the final date to submit required documents to continue or change their AGR-Lite for all of Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and Washington counties.”

The deadline for new applications for AGR-Lite is not until March 15th.

February 1st is the final date to obtain coverage for 2011 spring planted onions in the Pacific Northwest.

Now this from Stockland Livestock;

“Good morning from Stockland Livestock here in Davenport. Six hundred cattle on this market last week. Good strong sale for the weigh cows and bulls. Sold those a couple of dollars higher. Feeder cattle, most of the run was feeder cattle and were steady to strong. Plenty of demand for the lightweight type steers and heifers and the heavier feeder cattle steady. Big special on the 7th. Until then we will sell cattle every Monday. Always feature our stockers and feeders at a special time. We will have some real nice replacement heifers at our 7th sale. Thanks for listening. Stockland Livestock in Davenport.

Thanks Jack McQuinness.
