Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. But there are wines that continually please us year after year for their consistency. Today I want to remind you about an old favorite.
Last month I was invited to teach a class about the difference between the same grape variety grown and made in different places around the world. So we ventured into wines from all over the place. One wine that almost everyone agreed was a winner was a wine from California the fruit was grown in the famed Carneros, it was Buena Vista Pinot Noir. It gave a new meaning to the word finesse. It moved across your palate with grace and the balance of fruit, spice and oak were masterful. Because the tannins were soft the fruit was very apparent making it go well with the food. We served it with grilled pork and strawberry sauce - the match was excellent. It has remained one of the most consistent favorites through many years of production. It remains one of the most reliable of my favorite wines. Buena Vista Pinot Noir is pretty widely available and it is not expensive under $15 a bottle. Order it from your favorite wine merchant or visit the Buena Vista winery website.
