11/14/08 Washington State Farm Bureau Convention next week

Washington Ag November 14, 2008 Next week is a busy one for the Washington State Farm Bureau. Hammer: "We've got the Washington Farm Bureau Labor conference on Monday. Then we have our 89th Annual Meeting immediately following on Tuesday and both events are happening at the Wenatchee Convention Center." That's the Farm Bureau's Public Affairs Director Mollie Hammer. The Labor Conference features a Special VIP breakfast address by Attorney General Rob McKenna Monday morning. Tuesday morning Farm Bureau delegates will hear the report from their President Steve Appel. In the afternoon Hammer says there is a session anyone can attend. Hammer: "On Tuesday we've got Dr. Jay Lehr of the Heartland Institute and Kimball Rasmussen of Deseret Power Electric Cooperative who will be talking with our members about global warming." On Wednesday there are sessions on the impact of the recent election, the Wolf Working Group and the Young Farmer and Ranchers Discussion Meet. A legislator of the year award will be given at a banquet Wednesday evening. Thursday Farm Bureau members hold their election of officers for the coming year.
