Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. I mentioned earlier this week that I spent some time in Oregon Wine Country and there I found my new favorite wine. Yes it was Pinot Noir! While on a recent trip to Oregon Wine Country, I noticed that there was something going on between the 2002 and the 2003 vintages. Although the 2003 wasn't offensive, the 2002 was so much more impressive across the board that it was striking to me. On my travels, we stopped by the most beautiful place overlooking the valley and the vineyards near Dundee Oregon. It was Domaine Drouhin Oregon and the Pinot Noir Laurène was a stunning example of what is possible in Oregon. It was supple and silky the acids were bright and provided a lovely balance with the tannins. I had to purchase a few bottles of it as well as the Chardonnay Arthur. Both are wines to cellar and I will lay the Pinot Noir down for at least five years and the Chardonnay for about two. I think they are going to be a good investment in a future dinner party. I would definitely say go to the internet or call the winery to get some. Or better yet, visit the winery. The staff is very knowledgeable and they only charge five dollars to taste all three current releases. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
