What does the Mask of Zorro, Lady Hawk, the Chronicles of Narnia and the movie Alexander have in common? I'm Jeff Keane stay tuned after the break for some movie trivia . If "horses" came to mind in answer to the question about what the movie Lady Hawk, Mask of Zorro, and the Chronicles of Narnia have in common your partly right but the answer I am looking for is even more specific. Isn't that right Susan ? Jeff it all started when a horse named Othello in the 1985 hit Lady Hawk stunned the world by its beauty. Othello was a Friesian as were all the other horses in the movies Jeff mentioned, because you see Hollywood had embarked on a love affair with this breed's camera presence. Ancestors of modern Friesians were used in medieval times to carry knights to battle but using them in dramatizations of actual historical events is isn't exactly accurate because Friesians originated in the Netherlands within the last 400 to 600 years being especially popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. for Jeff, If you remember the antics of Zorro's horse you'll soon understand why Friesian owners are so smitten, despite their size, Friesians are incredibly graceful , love people and have quirky personalities. I have always been fascinated with How such a big horse can be so athletic carrying armour into battle. All this horse movie trivia gives me a good excuse to rent Brave Heart again. I'm Jeff Keane.
